David Jacques and the excavations at Blick Mead near Stonehenge

At the end David Jacques was romancing about the pleasure one gets ---with a close sense of human affinity and good will -- when one finds and holds an artefact for the first time in thousands of years since it was last used. It is a rappport and affection that always moves me every time I discover any such an object whether by chance, as in field walking, or by excavation.

  3. Nice to see archaeologists now finding Post Glacial Flooding evidence which should be no surprise to anyone that has studied BGS superficial deposit maps and understood how these rivers must have influence our ancestors.
